Sprite Slushie

A Sprite slushie is an icy frozen beverage made by blending lemon-lime soda with ice to create a silky, scoopable consistency. The drink captures the crisp, fizzy flavor of the soda with a smooth, slushy texture that’s perfect for hot days. It involves freezing, blending, and careful texture adjustment to achieve the ideal icy treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Sprite soda chilled
  • 2 cups ice cubes preferably crushed or small

Equipment

  • Freezer
  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Pour the Sprite soda into a shallow dish or tray and place it in the freezer.
  2. Allow the soda to freeze for 2 hours until it's firm but not completely solid, checking and breaking up any ice crystals as needed to prevent large blocks.
  3. Once almost frozen, break the icy soda into smaller chunks and transfer to the blender.
  4. Add the ice cubes to the blender with the frozen soda chunks.
  5. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth, thick, and resembles a scoopable slushie, about 30-45 seconds.
  6. Check the texture; if it’s too thick, add a splash of soda and blend briefly to loosen it slightly.
  7. Pour the slushie into glasses, using a spoon or scoop if needed, and serve immediately for the best icy texture.

Notes

For an extra tangy flavor, add a splash of lime juice before blending.
